Between appearance and personality, the most important to me is personality. Appearances don’t last forever and are hard to keep up without any flaws or even problems. Personality is constant and abstract, while appearances are concrete and eventually wear and tear. I usually befriend people with personalities I like and through the years of my life it has given the oddest rag tag group of friends life can offer. My personality is quiet and thoughtful, which usually attracts others that are the same way. The only appearance important to me is my own appearance, goodie two shoe appearances are more likely to encourage others to get to know your personality the less threatening or hostile you look. Appearances and personality have a co-dependent relationship. Less threatening appearances can encourage people to talk to you, then your personality can show through and that person can become a friend or an acquaintance based on the chemistry of the other persons personality to your own. Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Appearances can be altered by botox/surgeries and photoshop, personalities cannot be altered or morphed to be considered as “better” and there are no unrealistic standards of types or kinds of personalities. I really love how many different types of personalities there are and how they interact/comingle. One could capture raw personality in a picture with certain colors in the shot or even how noticeable the color is. Colors like red usually convey the emotion of rage/anger, blue is connected with sadness, yellow usually brings to mind happy oriented memories or thoughts, green is sometimes associated with disgust and even sickness. Red colors and drawn/tight skin on face could infer the subject of the photo is angry/feels anger. Settings could influence the feeling in a picture, darker surrounding may give the feeling of loneliness or sadness. For example pictures in a graveyard may give its audience the idea of sadness. A setting in a grass field may convey the feeling of calm/happiness as green is usually associated with positive things and the lush grasses green color gives the vibe of joy. Appearance can be shown in photography as age. Taking a picture of a younger tree to another, older tree for comparison of appearances between the two can be an example of this. Personality can be shown in a photo as someone’s hobby or as a sport that enjoy/play in. It could also be shown as what items are in their room, a person’s room can tell a lot about what they enjoy or how they act. Lots of games can take the form of a person’s competitiveness or if they have certain action figures it might be they like action oriented things like action movies/sports. You may even relate to a person’s personality from what they own/ have in their room. Appearances can trick you, but personalities are true and pure of heart. Personalities make a person themself and embodies their ideas and lifestyle/life in general.
